6-8:30- Cast B
What to bring to dress rehearsal:
*Leotard, tights, shoes. Nude leo in case we have some costumes.
*YOURSELF on time. We cannot wait for late arrivals.
We will be waiting in the auditorium during dress rehearsals. Please respect the school rules by not bringing food or drinks there. If you have a long night and need to have something, you must take it out to the commons area to eat it. This will be strictly enforced, as we want to be allowed to continue using this facility.
Performance:
Drop off / Pick up protocol:
All students will be checked into the green room (band room) upon arrival. This is where we wait for our turn. Do not drop off anyone more than 30 minutes before curtain. Send them already dressed in their nude leo and tights, so that they can easily get dressed in their first costume of the night.
The Nutcracker runs about an hour and 45 minutes, including intermission.
Green Room Policies:
-No parents or non-volunteers allowed backstage UNLESS we call you to come help.
-Dancers may not be picked up early, unless there’s an emergency. The show is short, and for everyone’s safety, we need all of the kids to remain with us.
-If your child is anxious or gets upset and we need your assistance, we will absolutely call you! We don’t let babies cry endlessly or send them onstage crying. Our goal is for them to have a great time, and while we can usually ensure that between us, if we need Mama, we call Mama!
-Students should not be dropped off more than 30 minutes before the show starts. With the littlest ones, it’s better to wait until the last minute. You could come early enough to find your seats, peek in the green room and check in, then maybe hold them and play with them until we’re almost to start time. That way they don’t have too much time to worry.
What you can send with your child:
-Books or games to pass the time.
-A water bottle that SEALS (NO Stanley cups or similar strawed cups please!)
-Please label everything you send. SHOES should have names, bags should have names, costumes that are not always on their bodies should have names.
-a clean, non-sugary snack for themselves if necessary.
What you should not send with your child:
-Valuables. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
-Glitter. Glitter is banned. The school does not want us to use it. Some costumes shed glitter, so we can’t always stop it, but sprinkled or spray glitter is absolutely not allowed.
Note on tights:
-Tights are pink
Hair:
In a bun. Parted or slicked back is fine. High bun is usually preferred. Party girls should have hair half up and curled.
Makeup: parents’ discretion

Fees
Performance fees for both our Christmas and June shows are paid in advance at the beginning of the school year. They are charged in 4 installments in August, September, October, and November. These fees apply to all performing classes and allow students to participate in either or both the Christmas Showcase and The Nutcracker, and either or both the June showcase and Sleeping Beauty. AGAIN: the fees listed below are for ALL of the shows, not each of the shows. One student, one fee = all the shows they are eligible for.

1 weekly class (Ballet 4-6 count as 1): Total fees: $308 ($77 installment)
2 weekly classes (Ballet 7 counts as 2): Total fees: $428 ($107 installment)
3 weekly classes: Total fees: $508 ($127 installment)
4 weekly classes: Total fees: $558 ($139.50 installment)

*These fees apply to each student, up to 2 students from the same family. Additional students in the same immediate family do not pay fees, but receive the same benefits.

Important Note
Please make sure you understand the schedule before committing to be a part of this show. We had a surprising number of people opt out of the recital last year, AFTER paying fees, receiving costumes, and learning the dance. This can be very difficult for the teacher and other students in the group, as things often need to be rearranged.

In The Nutcracker, it's even more difficult, because each dance is created for a specific number of dancers. If someone drops out a few weeks before the show, we do not have time to replace them and it creates a ripple effect for other students. I understand this can't always be avoided, but if it can, please do.
